What You’ll Do: As a Gas Appliance Repair Technician, you’ll be the face of Starfix for clients needing gas appliance inspections, repairs, and general appliance services. From diagnosing and repairing gas appliances to handling regular appliance repairs, your work will ensure our clients’ homes and businesses remain safe and functional.
Why This Role Is Perfect for You:
- You hold a Gas Appliance Service Technician certificate of qualification, allowing you to service and repair residential and light commercial gas appliances up to an input of 82 kW. Technical Safety BC
- Alternatively, you possess a Class B Gas Fitter certification, enabling you to perform installations and alterations on gas systems, including appliances with an input of 120 kW or less. Technical Safety BC
- If you’re not yet experienced in general appliance repairs, we’ll provide training!
- You’re self-motivated, with a knack for troubleshooting and a good sense of time management.
- Your communication skills enable smooth interactions with both customers and the team. We value communication and a good working environment; we are professionals and communicate professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely install, inspect, and repair gas appliances in clients’ homes.
- Accurately diagnose issues and provide on-the-spot cost estimates.
- Keep company vehicle well-organized, stocked, and maintained.
- Complete and submit invoices, route sheets, and reports (including pictures) in a timely manner.
- Cross-train in non-gas appliance repairs as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid Gas Appliance Service Technician certificate of qualification or Class B Gas Fitter certification.
- Knowledge and experience in appliance repair for gas applications; training provided for regular appliance repairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Proficiency with smartphone-based technology and apps.
