About Whirlpool appliances
Whirlpool is the largest appliance manufacturer in the world and the parent of Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, Jenn-Air and Inglis. In practice that means a Whirlpool technician is useful across a large share of Canadian kitchens, because those brands share chassis, control boards and fault codes.
Whirlpool machines are generally straightforward to service. Parts are the best supported of any brand in this market, and the diagnostic system is consistent: faults are reported as an F code paired with an E code, where F is the system and E is the specific failure.
What tends to fail, in our experience
- Drain pumps and shifter assemblies on top-load washers
- Door lock assemblies on front-loaders, reported as F5 E2
- Heating elements and thermal fuses on dryers
- Water inlet valves on dishwashers and washers
- Oven temperature sensors, reported as F3 E0
Why our team is comfortable with Whirlpool
Trained on the systems that matter
- Sealed-system and compressor work, so a fridge that is not cooling does not automatically become a replacement
- Gas-certified technicians on staff for gas Whirlpool cooking appliances — a BC licence requirement, not an optional extra
- Direct-drive and belt-drive laundry, including bearing, suspension and drive faults
- We read service modes and stored fault history, not just the code on the front panel
Parts, and first-visit repairs
- We carry the common Whirlpool wear parts — pumps, locks, sensors, elements and belts — on the van
- That stock is why roughly 90% of our jobs finish on the first visit
- Anything we do not carry is ordered the same day from Lower Mainland distributors
- Every repair carries a 90-day parts and labour warranty
Whirlpool error codes we see most often
If your appliance is showing one of these, quote it when you call — it usually tells us which part to bring.
Washers
| F8 E1 / LF | Long fill — taps, inlet screens or the water valve. |
| F9 E1 / Ld | Long drain. Usually the pump or a blocked drain hose. |
| F5 E2 / dL | Door will not lock. Latch or lock assembly. |
| Sud / F0 E5 | Suds lock, or a badly unbalanced load. |
| F7 E1 | Motor cannot reach speed — often a shifter or drive fault. |
Dryers
| F01 / F1 | Main control board. |
| AF | Restricted airflow. Vent or lint path, not the dryer. |
| PF | Power failure during the cycle. |
| L2 | Low or no line voltage — one leg of the 240V supply. |
Dishwashers
| F8 E4 | Overfill or float switch. |
| F7 E1 | Heater circuit not reaching temperature. |
| F6 E4 | Water inlet — valve or supply. |
| Clean light flashing | Stored fault. The flash count identifies it. |
Ranges & ovens
| F2 E0 | Stuck key on the touchpad. |
| F3 E0 | Oven temperature sensor open or shorted. |
| F1 E1 | Control board fault. |
Whirlpool repair — common questions
What does the F code on my Whirlpool mean?
The F number is the system and the E number is the specific fault. F8 E1 on a washer, for example, is a long fill: the machine wanted water and did not get it in time.
My dishwasher Clean light is flashing. Is that a fault?
Yes. The flash count is a stored fault code. Count the flashes before you call and it usually tells us which part to bring.
Are Whirlpool parts easy to get?
Whirlpool is the best-supported brand in the Lower Mainland. Most repairs finish on the first visit because the parts are already on the van.
How much does the repair cost?
You get a firm quote after diagnosis and you approve it before any work starts. If we cannot fix the appliance, you do not pay.
Do you cover my area?
We cover Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, from West Vancouver through to Agassiz, seven days a week between 8am and 8pm.
