Samsung appliances we repair
Every Samsung appliance in the house, from Bespoke and Family Hub refrigerators to FlexWash laundry pairs and slide-in induction ranges.
About Samsung appliances
Samsung has been building home appliances since the 1970s and is now one of the two largest manufacturers in the world. In Canadian kitchens it is best known for the Family Hub refrigerator line, Bespoke panels, and laundry pairs that combine a large drum with a steam cycle.
Mechanically, most current Samsung refrigerators run a Digital Inverter compressor, which Samsung warrants separately from the rest of the appliance — usually ten years. That matters when you are deciding whether to repair: a sealed-system fault on a five-year-old Samsung fridge is often still covered by the manufacturer, while the part that actually failed sits outside the sealed system and is not.
Samsung appliances are also unusually diagnostic-friendly. Nearly every fault surfaces as a code on the display, which means a technician who knows the codes can often tell you over the phone whether a job needs a part ordered before the first visit.
What tends to fail, in our experience
- Ice makers on French-door models — frosting over and jamming is the single most common Samsung call we take
- Drain pumps on front-load washers, usually from coins and lint reaching the impeller
- Vent restriction on dryers, which Samsung reports as a d80 / d90 / dF code rather than a heating fault
- Main control boards after a power surge — common across the Lower Mainland in winter storm season
- Touchpad shorts on ranges, reported as SE or 5E
Why our team is comfortable with Samsung
Trained on the systems that matter
- Sealed-system and inverter-compressor work, so a fridge that is not cooling does not automatically become a replacement
- Gas-certified technicians on staff for Samsung gas ranges and gas dryers — a BC licence requirement, not an optional extra
- We read Samsung's service mode and fault history, not just the code on the front panel
Parts on the van, not on order
- Ice maker assemblies, drain pumps, door locks, thermistors, heating elements and drive belts for the common Samsung platforms
- That stock is the reason roughly 90% of our jobs finish on the first visit
- Every repair carries a 90-day parts and labour warranty
Samsung error codes we see most often
If your appliance is showing one of these, quote it when you call — it usually tells us which part to bring.
Washers
| 4C / 4E | Not filling. Supply taps, inlet screens or the inlet valve. |
| 5C / 5E | Not draining. Usually the pump filter or a blocked drain pump. |
| UB / UE | Unbalanced load. If it repeats on an empty drum, suspect the suspension rods. |
| LC / LE | Leak detected. The machine stops to protect the floor. |
| dC | Door not locking. Door lock assembly or strike. |
| SUD | Too much foam. Non-HE detergent is the usual cause. |
Dryers
| d80 / d90 | Vent is 80% or 90% restricted. A duct-cleaning problem, not a dryer fault. |
| dF / dC | Door circuit — latch, switch or wiring. |
| HE / HC | Heater fault. Element, thermostat or thermal fuse. |
| tS / tO | Thermistor out of range. |
Refrigerators
| OF OF | Demo mode, not a fault. Often switched on by accident. |
| 22E / 21E | Fridge or freezer fan. Frequently an iced-over fan blade. |
| 5E | Defrost sensor. Left alone this becomes a frost-up. |
| 88 88 | Board confused after a power event. Sometimes clears on a reset. |
Dishwashers & ranges
| LC / LE | Leak sensor tripped in the base pan. |
| 4C / 4E | Not filling. Supply or inlet valve. |
| OC / oE | Overfilling. Usually the level sensor. |
| SE / 5E | Range touchpad short — buttons press themselves. |
Samsung repair — common questions
Are Samsung parts easy to get in BC?
For anything built in the last ten years, yes — Samsung parts are well stocked by Lower Mainland distributors and we carry the common failures on the van. Older or Korean-market models can take a few days.
My Samsung fridge ice maker keeps freezing up. Is that worth fixing?
Usually. On most French-door models it is a known design weakness rather than wear, and the fix is a replacement ice maker assembly with the revised part. We will tell you honestly if yours is a model where the problem tends to come back.
What does 4C or 5C mean on my Samsung washer?
4C means it cannot fill and 5C means it cannot drain. Both are often simple — a closed tap or a blocked pump filter — so it is worth checking those before booking.
Will a repair void my Samsung warranty?
If the appliance is still inside Samsung's warranty you should use Samsung's own service channel, and we will say so. Outside that period, our work does not affect anything, and the inverter compressor's separate ten-year coverage stays intact.
Do you work on Family Hub screens?
We repair the refrigeration and mechanical side of Family Hub models. A failed screen assembly is a Samsung-only part and we will point you to them rather than charge you for a diagnosis we cannot complete.
How much does Samsung appliance repair cost?
You get a firm quote after diagnosis and you approve it before any work starts. If we cannot fix the appliance, you do not pay.
