Amana is Whirlpool's value brand and is very common in Lower Mainland rentals, basement suites and first homes. The appliances are deliberately simple: fewer electronics, fewer features and fewer things to go wrong.
That simplicity makes Amana one of the cheaper brands to repair. The machines are built on Whirlpool platforms, so parts are easy to source and the fault codes are the familiar Whirlpool F and E pairs where the model has a display at all.

Washers

Is an Amana worth repairing?
Usually yes, precisely because it is simple. The common failures are inexpensive parts like lid switches and drive couplers, and a repair often costs a fraction of replacement.
My Amana washer fills and drains but will not spin.
On these machines that is the lid switch or the drive coupler nine times out of ten. Both are low-cost parts we carry.
