About KitchenAid appliances
KitchenAid is Whirlpool's premium kitchen brand and is heavily represented in Lower Mainland renovations, particularly its built-in wall ovens, panel-ready dishwashers and counter-depth refrigerators.
Mechanically KitchenAid shares Whirlpool platforms, so diagnosis and parts are straightforward. What differs is the finish and the built-in installation: a KitchenAid wall oven or integrated dishwasher usually has to come out of the cabinetry to be worked on, which is a job worth doing carefully rather than quickly.
What tends to fail, in our experience
- Dishwasher heaters and control boards, reported through the Clean light flash code
- Wall oven door hinges, which sag and break the door seal
- Oven temperature sensors drifting out of calibration
- Ice makers on counter-depth French-door fridges
- Soap dispenser latches on dishwashers
Why our team is comfortable with KitchenAid
Trained on the systems that matter
- Sealed-system and compressor work, so a fridge that is not cooling does not automatically become a replacement
- Gas-certified technicians on staff for gas KitchenAid cooking appliances — a BC licence requirement, not an optional extra
- Direct-drive and belt-drive laundry, including bearing, suspension and drive faults
- We read service modes and stored fault history, not just the code on the front panel
Parts, and first-visit repairs
- We carry the common KitchenAid wear parts — pumps, locks, sensors, elements and belts — on the van
- That stock is why roughly 90% of our jobs finish on the first visit
- Anything we do not carry is ordered the same day from Lower Mainland distributors
- Every repair carries a 90-day parts and labour warranty
KitchenAid error codes we see most often
If your appliance is showing one of these, quote it when you call — it usually tells us which part to bring.
Built on the Whirlpool platform
KitchenAid is Whirlpool's premium line. The chassis, boards and fault codes are shared with Whirlpool, so parts stay well supported even on older built-in units.
Washers
| F8 E1 / LF | Long fill — taps, inlet screens or the water valve. |
| F9 E1 / Ld | Long drain. Usually the pump or a blocked drain hose. |
| F5 E2 / dL | Door will not lock. Latch or lock assembly. |
| Sud / F0 E5 | Suds lock, or a badly unbalanced load. |
| F7 E1 | Motor cannot reach speed — often a shifter or drive fault. |
Dryers
| F01 / F1 | Main control board. |
| AF | Restricted airflow. Vent or lint path, not the dryer. |
| PF | Power failure during the cycle. |
| L2 | Low or no line voltage — one leg of the 240V supply. |
Dishwashers
| F8 E4 | Overfill or float switch. |
| F7 E1 | Heater circuit not reaching temperature. |
| F6 E4 | Water inlet — valve or supply. |
| Clean light flashing | Stored fault. The flash count identifies it. |
Ranges & ovens
| F2 E0 | Stuck key on the touchpad. |
| F3 E0 | Oven temperature sensor open or shorted. |
| F1 E1 | Control board fault. |
KitchenAid repair — common questions
My KitchenAid wall oven door will not close flush. Is that fixable?
Almost always. Sagging hinges are the usual cause and they are a replaceable part. Left alone, the broken seal makes the oven run cool and wastes a lot of heat.
Does a built-in dishwasher have to come out to be repaired?
For most repairs beyond the door and the filter, yes. It is routine work: we disconnect, slide it out, repair and reinstall.
How much does the repair cost?
You get a firm quote after diagnosis and you approve it before any work starts. If we cannot fix the appliance, you do not pay.
Do you cover my area?
We cover Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, from West Vancouver through to Agassiz, seven days a week between 8am and 8pm.
